Summary: It is shown that a combinatorial method based on the principle of inclusion and exclusion (Sieve formula) yields generating functions for the enumeration of integer sequences chosen from 12 musical tones for the ragas (scales) of the Indian music system. Mathematical and computational schemes are presented for the enumeration and construction of integer sequences pertinent to Indian music.
